The new manufacturing facility of Beijing Ciba-Geigy Pharma

The new manufacturing facility of Beijing Ciba-Geigy Pharma (BCGP), a joint venture of Ciba with the Chinese partners Beijing General Pharmaceutical Corp and Beijing No 3 Pharmaceutical factory, has officially opened. The plant, with an annual capacity for some 1bn tablets or capsules and involving an investment of over SF30m ($20.4m), will produce medicines for the treatment of diseases of the central nervous system. BCGP will open regional offices in Wuhan, Shenyang, Chonggin and Harbin over coming months, in addition to existing ones in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Tianjin.
