Igor Landau, senior executive vice president of the Rhône-Poulenc group, last week confirmed that pharmaceuticals arm Rhône-Poulenc Rorer was looking for a partnership or alliance to help it develop its otc business in the US. 'While we think we have the right size in Europe, in the US, compared with the main players, we have a sub-critical presence which does not allow us to negotiate with distributors.'
