Microbix Biosystems of Toronto is 'clearing the final hurdles' to market a new, genetically-engineered rabies vaccine, licensed from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Testing will now take place at the Animal Disease Institute in Ottawa. The vaccine is intended for animals such as foxes, skunks and racoons as well as humans.
