Fina Research, a subsidiary of Petrofina, has agreed to license its Finaprene thermoplastic elastomer technology to LG Chemicals. LG Chemicals plans to build a 30 000 tonne/year styrene-butadiene thermoplastic elastomers plant. The plant will be located in Yeochon, South Korea, and is scheduled for completion in 1997. The cost of investment is put at $64.9m. LG Chemicals has received formal approval from the Korean authorities to proceed with the project.
