Vigoro Corp is to expand

Vigoro Corp is to expand its potash solution mine at Hersey, Michigan, US, to 145 000 tonne/year by April 1997. The plant will pilot new technologies to be transferred to Vigoro's operation at Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan, Canada. Capacity at the Belle Plaine mine (operated by Vigoro's Kalium subsidiary) has been expanded by 200 000 tonne/year to 2.3m tonne/year.
