Columbian Chemicals plans to invest $60m to expand carbon black production. Capacity at the North Bend, Louisiana, US, plant will be increased by 37 000 tonne/year and is scheduled for completion in mid-1997.
Its UK subsidiary, Sevalco, is to increase production at its Avonmouth, Bristol, plant by 20 000 tonne/year. The new capacity is due to come onstream in Q3 1997.
