India's state-run Hindustan Organic Chemicals, which specialises in benzene-based products, reported a net profit of Rs601m (US$17.6m) for the year to 31 March, compared with Rs275m a year earlier. Output in 1995-96 was 304 000 tonne compared with the previous 272 000 tonne. Sales rose from 151 000 tonne to 169 000 tonne.
