Akzo Nobel is to increase its equity stake in the Indian pharmaceutical company Infar from 40% to 51%. Formerly Organon India, Infar has factories in Calcutta and Gujarat. In 1982 Akzo Nobel decreased its participation from 49% to 40% due to restrictions forced by the Foreign Exchange Regulations Act which have since been lifted.
