Early start for Polifin's VCM

The accelerated commissioning of Polifin's Rand340m ($77m) VCM plant at Sasolburg, South Africa, has resulted in the startup of Sasol's Rand12m booster compressor for the ethylene pipeline, four weeks early.
The 800kW compressor on the 150km pipeline from Secunda to Sasolburg boosts throughput by more than a third and ups pressure from 2400kPa to 3800kPa.
