Spanish plastics consumption grew 8.6% in 1995 to 2.7m tonne/year, according to ANAIP, the Spanish plastics manufacturers association. Growth for processed products was strongest in Q1, up by 45%. However, Q4 consumption fell 16%. Bulk polymer resins consumption was up 8.3% in 1995 to 2.6m tonne/year, while production rose 4.3% to 2.6m tonne/year, based on operating rates of 89%. Imports were up 13.3% on 1994 at 1.3m tonne/year while exports rose 4.9% to 1.3m tonne/year.
