The German drug registration agency BfArm has approved registration of BASF subsidiary Knoll's new hypertension drug Tarka, which Knoll claims is the first combination of a calcium antagonist (verapamil) and an ACE inhibitor (trandolapril). The pharmaceutical is expected to be available in Germany in early 1997. Knoll said the US Food and Drug Adminstration has also indicated that it will approve Tarka.
