Padmini Polymers Ltd (PPL) and Henkel have signed a ten-year agreement to introduce into India bodycare products, household cleaners, car-care products and laundry detergents. PPL will set up three plants by June. The total project will cost about Rs200m (US$5.6m) and will contribute an additional turnover of Rs500m in the first year. The contract permits PPL to appoint franchisees all over India. This will fetch another Rs100m, lifting PPL's turnover to Rs6bn by 1997-98.
