THE Salim Group is appointing two Indonesian partners for the 200 000 tonne/year PP project to be located downstream of its proposed Merak cracker, a potential investor in the PP project told ACN.
The two partners will not be the same as the partners for the cracker project. Salim is looking at one, possibly two, Indonesian partners for the cracker project, he said.
The Bimantara Group has been linked with the cracker project. However, its participation has yet to be confirmed. Salim was unavailable for comment.
The PP project will be a joint venture comprising Nichimen Corp, Chisso Corp, Salim and the two as-yet-unnamed partners. Chisso will supply technology. Chisso Engineering is one of the candidates for the engineering, procurement and construction contract (ACN 16/23 Dec 1996, p31).
