Wacker-Chemie has started engineering on a new plant to produce 3000 tonne/year cyclodextrins. Located in the US, production of alpha-, beta- and gamma-cyclodextrin will start at the end of 1998. Wacker is using proprietary technology in the plant which will cost $26m.
