Synaptic/Warner-Lambert in R&D deal

Synaptic Pharmaceutical Corp of New Jersey, US, and Warner-Lambert have signed a collaborative research and licensing deal covering identification and development of compounds that act on receptors for the neurotransmitter, galanin. Synaptic could receive up to $34m in milestone payments for the first two compounds identified. Possible indications include obesity, Alzheimer's, depression, pain and endocrine disorders.
