Ciba Specialty Chemicals has placed some of the activities of Allied Colloids, which it took over earlier this year, into separate divisions within the company.Most of Allied Colloids operations will become a new Ciba water treatments division, headed by David Farrar, former CEO of Allied Colloids, and based at Bradford, UK. The remaining, overlapping 15 percent of activities will be merged with Ciba's five existing divisions.
The consumer care division will absorb detergents and cleaning products, sizing, pre-treatment and finishing products for textiles and personal care.
The coatings operation will move into the additives division and become part of that unit. Dyeing and printing auxiliaries will be integrated into the textile dyes division.
