BOSTIK INC. has started up a $4 million web line expansion of its adhesives facility in Middleton, Mass. The move will boost the companyÕs capacity for thermoplastic web adhesives by 40 percent. The company says web adhesives are becoming popular because of their ease of use and environmental safety. They are taking market share from flame bonding techniques and liquid adhesives systems.

CLARIANT GmbH has adopted Exolit as the tradename for its line of flame retardants, effective as of June. The products were formerly known by the names Hostaflam and Sandoflam. The company says the renaming of its flame retardants represents the start of the renaming of all of its products in its additives business unit.
