BASF Corporation is launching a range of products for personal care formulations. Luviquat Mono LS (cocotrimonium methosulfate), a cationic emulsifier suitable for hair and skincare, is a chloride-free solubilizer and foam-stabilizer with conditioning effects and is stable at low temperatures.Luviquat PQ11 PN is a polymer with conditioning and fixative properties for hair care. The product is a version of polyquar-ternium-11 containing BASF's Phenonip preservative.
Phytantriol is an active ingredient for moisture retention for hair and skincare. It is soluble in some cosmetic oils but not in water, and is stable at high temperatures.
Luviset P.U.R. (polyurethane-1) is a hairspray resin designed to meet California's air pollution requirements for 55 percent VOC. The new policy requires a larger volume of water in formulations, and "Luviset P.U.R. resin allows for a high level of solids in water-containing formulas without a significant increase in viscosity," according to the company.
