CCL Certified

CCL Container's advanced monbloc aerosol division in Hermitage, Pa., has fulfilled requirements to be a certified provider of extruded aluminum cans for Redken Laboratories Inc., a division of Cosmair Inc. The company says it has satisfied rigid control standards involving four key areas of the impact extrusion manufacturing process and will meet quarterly evaluations to ensure ongoing compliance with Redken's requirements for supplier service, delivery and product quality.

BFGoodrich Picks Distributor

BFGoodrich has chosen CA Specialties Ltd. as a local distributor for its consumer specialty group. CA Specialties first worked with BFGoodrich eight years ago by representing the company's materials to manufacturers and marketers of personal care, household and I&I products. CA Specialties will distribute Carbopol polymers, Pemulen polymeric emulsifiers, Avalure film forming polymers and other chemical specialties to companies in the South and Southeast.

Bayer Gives Health Products

Bayer AG will donate healthcare and hygiene products worth $1.5 million to help the flood-stricken regions of China. The international chemicals group will provide healthcare products such as aspirin, the antirheumatic agents Rheu-mon and Rantudil, and Baygon, the company's household insecticide. The donation will be provided to the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs through the German humanitarian aid group Viva e. V.

Miller Upgrades Website

Miller Transporters Inc., a Jackson, Miss.-based bulk carrier, has upgraded its website. The site, located at www.millert.com, contains an array of new information on the company and its people, equipment and facilities. It also contains direct e-mail links.

PPG Earns Award

PPG Industries Inc. has received two Quest for Excellence awards from Automotive Industries magazine as the "best of the best" among automotive coatings and glass suppliers. Readers involved in design, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and management rated their suppliers for quality, price, delivery, service and innovation.

Baltic Color Gets ISO...

Baltic Color, part of the Kemira-owned Tikkurila Group, is the first company in the Baltic area to receive environmental certification according to ISO-14001. The certification was granted by SFS-Sertification of Finland. Baltic Color manufactures waterborne decorative paints for the Baltic market.

...As Does Engelhard

Engelhard Corporation's plant in North Charleston, S.C., has received ISO-9002 certification for the production of white, mica-based pearlescent pigments, including Timica and Flamenco pigments for cosmetics and Mearlin MagnaPearl pigments for coatings, plastics and other applications. The plant was certified by Quality Systems Registrars.
