LONDON (CNI)--Hoechst's supervisory board has approved the demerger of the group and the merger of its life sciences operations with those of French group Rhone-Poulenc, the German pharmaceuticals and chemicals giant announced Tuesday.
Hoechst's management said it will present the demerger and merger proposals for approval by shareholders at the annual general meeting on 4 May 1999.
