LONDON (CNI)--Dutch group DSM is to acquire the wine ingredients activities of Italian machine builder Della Toffola's French subsidiary Imeca for an undisclosed sum, it announced Tuesday.
The wine ingredients business, known as Laboratoire Oenotechnique, achieved a turnover of Dfl10m ($4.8m/Euro4.5m) last year, a DSM spokesman told CNI. It will be transferred to DSM's existing wine ingredients company Littoral Unologie - part of DSM's beverage ingredients business which in turn is part of the food specialities group.
DSM said the deal is in line with its growth strategy for food specialties, and will strengthen its position in the field of enzymes and yeast for the international wine industry.
