Acetic to double

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Co (GNVF) has licensed BP Amoco Chemicals' Cativa technology to expand its acetic acid plant at Bharuch in Gujarat, India.

Capacity will be doubled to 100 000 tonne/year by December 2001.

The two companies signed the US$11m technology deal in March. The total cost of the expansion project is estimated to be Rs720m (US$16.68m).
