LONDON (CNI)--Normal production was resumed on Monday at the Ostend, Belgium phthalic anhydride (PA) plant of Italy's Sisas group following a one-week unplanned shutdown because of problems in the distillation column.
The 100 000 tonne/year capacity plant was restarted without problems over the weekend, according to Giordano Maestrelli, Sisas director of transport and purchasing.
He confirmed that the successful production restart had enabled Sisas to avert a force majeure declaration on PA.
