HOUSTON (CNI)--Celanese said Thursday it is boosting the price of its acrylate monomers and glacial acrylic acid by $66.12/tonne (Euro62.55/tonne) for customers in the US, Canada and Mexico, effective 1 October.
Customers in Europe and South Africa are facing a higher price boost of some $81/tonne, while customers in Asia, South America and Turkey are facing a substantially higher price hike of $100/tonne beginning with October shipments.
Dallas, Texas-based Celanese gave no specific reason for the price increases.
A member of the Frankfurt, Germany-based Hoechst group, Celanese had worldwide sales of $3.8bn in 1998.
