Orica Signs Explosives Deal With ICI

India Orica Ltd. plans to form a joint venture with ICI India to manufacture and market commercial explosives for the Indian market. Upon approval of ICI India's shareholders, ICI India's explosives interests will transfer to the new company, Indian Explosives Ltd. These assets include a major manufacturing site at Gomia in Bihar state and two other bulk emulsion plants. ICI India's 70 percent stake in Ensign Bickford will also be transferred.
