Atochem/BPAmoco cracker at Lavera down

LONDON (CNI)--The Elf Atochem/BPAmoco naphtha cracker at Lavera in southern France was shut down late Thursday following a fire but is expected to be back up over the weekend, according to market reports received by CNI on Friday..

The outage of the approximately 700 000 tonne/year capacity unit has affected at least some of the derivatives plants, including ethylene oxide.

No further details were immediately available.
