SINGAPORE (CNI)--Taiwan's China Petrochemical Development Corp (CPDC) plans to more than double the capacity of its new 120 000 tonne/year caprolactam facility in Kaohsiung within the next two years, CNI learned Thursday.
Work on the new facility is almost complete. It is scheduled to start up in December with commercial production beginning next February.
A CPDC officer said that with growing domestic and regional demand for the chemical, the company intends to further raise caprolactam output by expanding the unit, possibly to 250 000 tonne/year.
