Orica sells PE films unit to Stellar Films to hone edge

SINGAPORE (CNI)--Australian chemicals and explosives giant Orica stated Wednesday that it sold its polyethylene (PE) cast films business, which manufacturers plastic film for disposable diapers, to management buy-out company Stellar Films Group Pty Ltd, as part of moves to focus on its core operations. The sale price was not disclosed.

The cast films business generates sales of about A$15.0m ($9.2m/Euro9.6m) last year. It employs a staff of 65 at sites in Deer Park, near Melbourne, and Port Klang, Malaysia.
