SINGAPORE (CNI)--Eastman Chemical Co stated Friday that it will increase from 1 April its acetic anhydride price across Asia Pacific by $0.03 (Euro0.03)/kg to help offset higher production costs.

Jinuk Chang, product manager here with Eastman Chemical Asia Pacific, said that the planned hike is needed to "begin moving margins toward more acceptable levels".

Acetic anhydride is used mainly in the manufacture of cellulose acetates and dyes.
