SINGAPORE (CNI)--Taiwan's China Petrochemical Development Corp (CPDC) is rushing repairs to its 90 000 tonne/year glacial acetic acid plant in Ta-sheh, Kaohsiung, after being forced to shut the unit late Monday (20 March) because of technical problems, CNI was informed Thursday.
A CPDC source said repair works will "take more than a week". He declined to provide further details on customer supplies.
"This will further tighten the regional market for acetic acid and push up prices," a Singapore-based petrochemicals analyst told CNI.
