BFGoodrich chem sale includes consumer, industrial products

HOUSTON (CNI)--The performance materials division BFGoodrich put on the market Monday includes a variety of products within the textile, polymer additives and consumer specialties chemical segments with 12 US sites employing a total of 2200.

The company's textile and coatings solutions group within the performance materials segment produces high-performance polymers, including synthetic and natural thickeners; acrylic, styrene, butadiene and urethane emulsions and specialty chemical additives for industrial end-use markets. This group serves the coatings and specialty chemicals, textile and graphic arts industries.

BFGoodrich's polymer additives and specialty plastics group produces thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and reinforced TPU materials, engineering thermoplastics and engineering resins for reaction injection moulding. The division also produces additives for rubber, plastics, lubricants and other mouldings. The group serves the automotive and electronics industries.

The consumer specialties group serves the personal care, pharmaceutical, food and beverage markets. The division produces synthetic thickeners, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical ingredients.

BFGoodrich's performance materials segment employs 3400 worldwide with 2200 of those employees working in the company's 12 US sites. The segment's US facilities include four Ohio sites, two plants in Kentucky, two in North Carolina, two in South Carolina, one in Illinois and one in Washington state. Global facilities are located in Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the UK, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Korea, India, China and Canada.
