SINGAPORE (CNI)--Eastman Chemical Co will raise its regional price for acetic anhydride on 1 July by $0.05 (Euro0.05)/kg because of rising production costs, CNI was informed Thursday.

This will be the second time so far in 2000 that the company has made such a revision. Product manager at Eastman Chemical Asia Pacific Pte Ltd here, Jinuk Chung, said the price increase was driven by higher raw material costs.

Acetic anhydride is used mainly in the manufacture of cellulose acetates and dyes.
