LONDON (CNI)--BP Amoco has rescinded the force majeure declaration on supplies of butadiene from its Grangemouth, Scotland petrochemicals complex, CNI learned on Friday.
The approximately 75 000 tonne/year plant had been out of action for about a month but has been operating normally since last weekend (8/9 July).
Customers were put on allocation soon after the plant was brought down by a steam pipe fracture at Grangemouth. The pipe fracture also halted output at the complex's high density polyethylene (hdPE) and linear low density polyethylene (lldPE) plants. These plants were brought back up late last week after a temporary steam line was installed and supplies of ethylene piped in from BP Amoco's Wilton, Teesside complex.
