Shell Distributes FRShell Epoxy Resins LLC has entered into an agreement with Hamburg-based Schill & Seilacher under which Shell has the rights to distribute and market that company's Struktol Polydis 3710 phosphorous-based flame retardants and epoxy resins. Shell has global distribution rights for the product, excluding Japan and Western Europe.
Vivendi Buys Waste Services
Onyx, the waste services subsidiary of Vivendi Environmental SA, has agreed to buy Waste Management Inc.'s waste service operations in Hong Kong and its hazardous waste facility in Mexico. Onyx is also buying Waste Management's 49 percent interest in the Advanced Environmental Services LLC joint venture. Onyx was the 51 percent partner in the JV. The transactions are expected to be completed by the third and fourth quarters. The total sales price of the combined assets is roughly $250 million.
H.B. Fuller Picks Vendor
H.B. Fuller has selected as its business intelligence solution provider Glen Ellyn, Ill.-based Vanguard Solutions Group Inc. Vanguard's solution, the Graphical Performance Series, will be used to improve efficiency and reduce internal development costs. More than 1,500 Fuller employees will be connected with GPS.
Akzo Picks Distributor
Akzo Nobel Surface Chemicals LLC has chosen DeWolf Chemical Inc. as an exclusive distributor of specialties to both the HI&I and personal care industries. In addition to the nitrogen derivatives line, DeWolf will be responsible for the sales and marketing of several new product lines, including Berol narrow-range alcohol ethoxylates and Elfacos hydroxyethyl ethylcellulose pseudoplastic thickeners.
Ashland Polymers With Cyro
Ashland Distribution Company's general polymers division will distribute Cyro Industries Acrylite and Acrylite Plus acrylic molding and extrusion compounds throughout North America. The two companies will also offer related technical and applications support to customers who use those materials.
Norton and Chemfab Merge
Norton Company is completing a merger under which its subsidiary, PPLC Acquisition Corporation, will merge with and into Chemfab Corporation, and Chemfab will become an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Norton. Norton has already made a successful tender offer for all of the outstanding shares of Chemfab's common stock. Norton is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain.
Robertshaw Moves
Robertshaw industrial products division, a group within the intelligent automation division of Invensys PLC, has moved out of its nearly 100-year-old manufacturing facility in Knoxville, Tenn. The company's new headquarters are in Maryville, Tenn.
