SINGAPORE (CNI)--The Dow Chemical Company said Tuesday that it has received Chinese government approval to construct a 40 000 tonne/year epoxy resins production facility at Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province.

The plant is scheduled to begin production in H1 of 2003, Dow said in a statement.

The epoxy resins unit will share the Zhangjiagang site with two other facilities currently under construction - a polystyrene plant by SAL Petrochemical (Zhangjiagang) Company Limited, a joint venture between Dow and Japan's Asahi Chemical, and a 100% Dow-owned emulsion polymers plant - both scheduled to begin production in 2002.
