LONDON (CNI)--US-based Jacobs Engineering said Tuesday it has been awarded the engineering and procurement contract for the polystyrene (PS) expansion at AtoFina's site in Carville, Louisiana,US.
AtoFina, which is the chemicals arm of Franco-Belgian energy group TotalFinaElf, is building a new 230 000 tonne/year high-impact PS line at Carville. The expansion, which is due onstream by mid-2002, will raise AtoFina's PS production capacity at the site to 750 000 tonne/year.
Financial details of the Jacobs contract were not disclosed.
