Air Products and Chemicals Inc. has increased the global price for ortho-toluenediamine by 8c. per pound, effective January 1.

Creanova Inc.'s colorants and biocides division will be making a price adjustment to the company's line of colorant and biocide products effective February 1. Creanova is a subsidiary of Degussa-Hüls Corporation.

Dow Chemical Company is increasing the list and off-list prices for all premium Methocel cellulose ethers in North America, effective February 1. The price for premium grades of material used in pharmaceutical, personal care and other applications will be increased by 5 percent.

Omnova Solutions' performance chemicals business is increasing the price for all glyoxal-based textile products by 3c. per wet pound, effective February 1. This includes the company's Permafresh and Sedgeres resins products. Omnova is also implementing price increases of 5c. per pound across its textile product lines that use ethylene- or petroleum-based chemistries.

Troy Corporation will be making a 4 percent increase on most scheduled prices for additives and dry film preservatives effective February 1, or when contracts allow. The company is also increasing the price for selected bactericides by a slightly higher percentage.

Union Carbide Corporation is, effective February 1, increasing the global price of 2,4-pentanedione (acetyl acetone) by 15c. per pound.

Velsicol Chemical Corporation has, as of January 1, increased the price of its monomeric plasticizer product, tri (2-ethylhexyl) trimellitate (TOTM), by 3c. per pound, or as contracts permit. Effective January 15, or as contracts permit, the company is also increasing the prices of several other products. General purpose liquid esters, including Benzoflex 9-88, 50, 2088 and 2160 will be increased by 3c. per pound. Specialty liquid esters, including Benzoflex 9-88 SG, 131, 2-45, and 284, Velsicol 1046, 6000 and 6534, and Velate 262, will increase by 5c. per pound. Benzoyl chloride is also increasing by 5c. per pound. The company's benzoic acid is increasing by 3c. per pound, and its chlorendic anhydride is increasing by 10c. per pound.
