ExxonMobil Chemical is adding more than 13 600 tonne/year of oriented polypropylene (OPP) capacity at its plant in Shawnee, Oklahoma, US. A new orienter is set to be operational in late 2002.
The firm says this is the third major expansion of its films business capacity in the past 15 months and 'demonstrates the strong belief we have in the sustainable competitive advantages of our films business'.
ExxonMobil recently expanded its unit in Brindisi, Italy, to include a 10m orienter, and added to its unit in Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
