HOUSTON (CNI)--Nova Chemicals said Thursday it has selected McCann Plastics to distribute Nova's polyethylene (PE) resins to the US market for rotational moulding.

Terms of the distribution agreement were not disclosed. McCann is to begin distribution for Nova's PE resins after an unspecified but "brief" transition period, according to Nova.

John Siegrist, vice president for North American PE sales for Nova, said the distribution agreement provides "a foundation for Nova Chemicals and McCann to make a long-term commitment to the rotational moulding industry in the US."

Tom Klein, distribution sales manager for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Nova Chemicals, said McCann Plastics "will have the opportunity to exclusively develop applications for Nova Chemicals' new rotational moulding resins that will be manufactured using Nova's proprietary Sclairtech process at the company's Joffre, Alberta site."

McCann Plastics is based in North Canton, Ohio.
