LONDON (CNI)--Finland's Kemira said Tuesday it is to invest Euro1.9m ($1.7m) in the revamp of one of its fine chemicals plant in Kokkola, Finland to produce pharmaceutical intermediates.
Ulf Bjorkqvist, managing director of Kemira's fine chemicals division, said the plant will be dedicated to pharmaceutical intermediates production from Q2-2002. The plant, which is named No 1 and currently produces agrochemical fine chemicals, will be operating according to good manufacturing practices (GMP) principles.
The company said it will continue to strengthen its agrochemicals fine chemicals production by continuously expanding the No 2 and 3 plants at Kokkola.
