ATRIUM Biotechnologies Inc., a subsidiary of Aeterna Laboratories Inc., has acquired Unipex. The transaction is valued at $20 million and was financed from Atrium's cash surplus.

Elementis chief executive Lyndon Cole has resigned from the company by mutual consent. Jonathan Fry, currently non-executive chairman, will temporarily become executive chairman until a new CEO is found.

ROCHE's vitamin division has acquired Monsanto's product line in 25-hydroxy-vitamin D3, a metabolite of vitamin D3, which provides benefits in the production of broilers, layers and turkeys in the poultry feed sector.

UK 's Competition Commission has approved the merger of the vitamins activities of BASF and Takeda. The merger has now been approved by all relevant authorities worldwide.
