Ferro



Ferro has appointed James Bays to the position of vice president and general counsel. Bays will be responsible for the company's legal and environmental audit functions. Bays has been acting in the capacity of legal counsel for Ferro on a consulting basis since April. Previously, he served as a senior vice president, general counsel and chief legal officer for Invensys, London.

Foster Wheeler



Umberto della Sala has been appointed president and ceo of Foster Wheeler Continental Europe, the European business unit of Foster Wheeler, incorporating Foster Wheeler Italiana, Foster Wheeler France and Foster Wheeler Iberia. Umberto della Sala succeeds Florentino Valencia who, after eight years of international assignments in both Paris and Milan, has returned to the US as senior vice president in Foster Wheeler.

ICI



Adri Baan will join the board of ICI as a non-executive director. Baan was European vice president of Royal Philips Electronics and president/ceo of the consumer electronics division prior to his retirement in March.

Reilly Industries



Max Hoogstoel has been elected vice president of Reilly Industries. Hoogstoel also has the responsibility for all pyradine chemicals manufacturing worldwide, Reilly's foreign subsidiaries and global purchasing. He remains chairman of the board of Reilly Chemicals and Nantong Reilly Chemicals company.

Rhodia



Alain Coine has been appointed Rhodia's corporate communications director. He replaces Thierry Lemâne, who has left the group. Coine will also continue in his function as public affairs director.

Sydvenska Kemi



Sydvenska Kemi is to appoint Lennart Holm as acting ceo and first vice president and Inge Pettersson as second vice president. Holm is currently president of Perstorp Specialty Chemicals and a member of Perstorp's executive management, while Pettersson is president of Neste Oxo. Holm is replacing current Sydvenska Kemi chief executive Harald Mix, who will be elected as a new member to the Perstorp board. Holm is also replacing current Perstorp chief Ake Fredriksson, who plans to resign after 29 years with the company.

Cell-U-Foam



Cell-U-Foam, supplier of cellular glass insulation products to the chemical, petrochemical and oil and gas industries, has appointed Chick Parkinson to the newly created position of business development manager, International LNG projects. Parkinson's experience working with engineering and construction companies around the world is key to Cell-U-Foam's overall strategy of increasing participation in the LNG industry.
