LONDON (CNI)--European polyolefins producer Basell confirmed on Monday that its 250 000 tonne/year capacity high density polyethylene (hdPE) unit at Wesseling, Germany is back in full operation following a four day outage last week.

A spokesman for the company told CNI that the unit was closed on Tuesday (3 July) due to technical problems and was brought back online late on Friday (6 July).

Basell's 100 000 tonne/year hdPE unit at Wesseling was also reported to have been taken offline last Thursday. The spokesman said that while there may have been a minor stoppage for product testing, as far as he was aware the unit was back in operation.
