SINGAPORE (CNI)—Nippon Mitsubishi Oil Corp has decided to procure 300 000 kilolitres of crude oil from Nigeria instead of the Persian Gulf over concerns that the US-led attack on Afghanistan might affect its crude shipments, Japanese media reported on Monday.

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun also reported that Nippon Mitsubishi has suspended its exports of petrochemical products and kerosene to Asia and North America due to the US military action.

CNI could not confirm these reports, as Japan is observing a national holiday today.
