HOUSTON (CNI)--DuPont said Monday its 255 000 tonne/year vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) facility at LaPorte, Texas is back in operation following a brief shutdown for maintenance work.
Amy Hodges, a spokeswoman for DuPont's Texas operations, told CNI that the plant was taken off-line 17 October for several hours because of an "operational issue."
She declined to provide additional information.
Hodges said the plant was restarted and no customers or inventory were impacted.
LaPorte is located 20 miles southeast of Houston on Galveston Bay.
DuPont is based in Wilmington, Delaware.
