LONDON (CNI)--BP Chembel said Friday its linear alpha olefins (LAO) plant in Feluy, Belgium is running normally following its restart at the beginning of the week.

The 300 000 tonne/year facility is running at about 70% of capacity and output will be ramped up over the next two to three weeks depending on demand, said Etienne Capron, operations supervisor at the plant.

BP Chembel, the Belgian subsidiary of UK-headquartered BP Chemicals, was forced to close the plant on 5 October due to industrial action. When the strike ended the plant remained closed for an approximately one month maintenance turnaround.
