MORTON POWDER COATINGS, a division of the Rohm and Haas Company, has released a new coating, HY2, for exterior applications. The company says that the weatherable outdoor finish is the appropriate coating for lawn mowers, tractors, wheels, vending machines, building products, pallet racking, playground equipment, electrical enclosures, fencing and outdoor furniture. Morton says that the improved particle size and film build control of HY2 contributes to an overall reduced reject rate and improved Faraday cage penetration. The coating features a more uniform film and electrostatic charging characteristics resulting in higher first-pass transfer efficiency.
