LONDON (CNI)--Basell confirmed plans on Friday to raise its European prices for polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) by Euro100/tonne.
A spokeswoman for the European polyolefins producer said the increases will take effect from February. Current prices were not disclosed.
Basell was hit by falling margins in the second half of last year and was forced to reduce output. In the fourth quarter it cut production of PP and PE by 145 000 tonne and 102 000 tonne respectively because of low demand.
