LONDON (CNI)--BP Chemicals was fined £1m ($1.4m/Euro1.6m) at Falkirk Sheriffs Court in Scotland on Friday after pleading guilty to health and safety infringements at its Grangemouth, Scotland petrochemicals and refinery complex.
The company had been prosecuted by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) following a steam line explosion and a separate fire at the Grangemouth complex in June 2000.
