Millennium Chem raises global prices for TiO2

HOUSTON (CNI)--Millennium Chemicals announced global price increases Wednesday for all titanium dioxide (TiO2) products sold to all end-use market applications effective 1 March, including a $110.20 (Euro125.23)/tonne boost for the US.

The company said the price increase is an effort to restore margins for the product.

In other markets, the Red Bank, New Jersey-based specialty chemicals company listed prices increases of $220.40/tonne for Canada; $129/tonne in Europe, the Middle East and Africa; $100/tonne in Asia-Pacific; $50/tonne in Brazil and $100/tonne in the rest of Latin America; and, $75.86/tonne in Australia.

Millennium did not specify the percentage of the increases.
